Captured in 2021, this 15-minute trail camera sequence reveals rarely seen behaviour of a young female dingo.

She returns to the same carcass over several days, feeding lightly and remaining nearby. When a fox tries to scavenge, she chases it off.

Footage like this gives insight into how dingoes manage food, defend territory, and behave in the wild. It also reminds us how little chance they’re given.

She has not been seen since.

We believe she was killed, another quiet loss in a system that rarely asks questions.
